We warmly welcome you to our little Jewish community in Oslo! We have a proud history in Norway, stretching back to the 1800s. While we try to preserve the past, we live for the present and the future. Therefore, we have a lot of activities for our members and we believe we have rich offerings for those desiring to take part in Jewish life in Norway. If you are a new Jew in town or have lived here for long suddenly wanting to take part, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Like many small communities in Europe, you will find great variation in religious practice among our members - from those who have grown up in a reform community in the US to those coming from a strictly orthodox background. Our common way is orthodoxy with a large portion of tolerance and respect for the many who are not particularly observant. We ask of all to be halachic Jews to become members. Whatever your level of observance, we hope you will feel at home with us because we have no interested soul to lose!

We regret that our English pages have very little info available for the time being. We hope to do something about it soon... Meanwhile, please consult our Norwegian pages. They are not completed yet, but are still far ahead of this English page.

Thanks for visiting our pages - we hope to give you a better welcome on the English pages in the future!
